LG Arena KM900 – Titanium Beauty

LG is a company with a really wide range of products in the mobile phone market. The company had barely finished launching the Prada II and now it has come up with LG Arena KM900. This phone was announced in February 2009 and would be in store in April 2009.

It was Prada which came with the rectangle with a touch screen and minimal buttons that Apple decided to ‘adopt’ for the iPhone. The Arena is another step in the same direction. What LG has actually brought in here is the new and attractive 3D interface.. The phone can also handle DivX and Xvid videos despite not being a smart phone in the accurate sense of the word. The device has 8GB of flash storage onboard and comes with a microSDHC slot so you can add more storage space.

The phone is made of titanium, or at least some of the parts are. It is 105.9mm tall, 55.3mm wide and 11.95mm thick and weighs just 105gms. The light weight might confuse people into thinking it is an el-cheapo device. There are three buttons on the face – send, end and menu/home. On the sides are the volume rocker and camera button. On the top is a power button, a standard 3.5 mm audio connector so you can bring your own headphones for music and movies. A sliding cover protects the charging port and end ensures that it does not damn the aesthetics with dust and grime.

The back cover of the phone is a mercury gray as are the sides. The outer frame is silver colored while the inner frame is black colored so aesthetics of the phone are pretty good. The bad thing is that the glass screen is a fingerprint magnet. The screen is 3 inches and comes with a gorgeous 480 X 800 p resolution. Coming to the 3D interface, the only thing that can be said is that it is a fancy toy which you would get bored of in no more than a week. There are rotating menus, special apps for which you can have shortcuts on home screen as well.

The phone is 7.2Mbps HSDPA capable. You get a front as well as back camera. Another common feature is TV out. Music features are powered by a Dolby Mobile system which adds to listening pleasure. All in all if you want a good feature-phone but not a full blown smart phone, this is the prefect choice for you.
