Features:
It’s not simply any TV; it is a Plasma TV with 50” display screen that can play media from your SD/SDHC memory cards as well as stream media directly from the internet through the Ethernet port. With nice features and satisfying performance, the price tag is not a huge one.One can access the online content that is delivered through Panasonic’s Viera Cast service. It includes YouTube, weather reports, Picasa, and Bloomberg. You must be thinking about YouTube videos; as a matter of fact these videos are displayed in a small screen rather than full screen, and this is nice as on larger screen the YouTube videos will be pixilated. Remote is programmable though not backlit. Picture and sound are pretty nice, but not great.
Pros:
- Internet and content via ethernet port
- Well designed programmable remote
- Great black levels and nice detail in dark areas
- Very good contrast
- Good anti-glare screen
- SD card reader
Cons:
- Doesn’t outperform its predecessor (TH-50PZ800U)
- Color reproduction doesn’t match the HDTV standard
- Average picture quality
- Remote not backlit
Final Words:
This 50” Plasma does not have the finest picture indeed, but it surely is worth the price. High def picture and internet streaming are two tasks that are very nicely done, so consider this TV while shopping for a television with big screen and HD option.
