Many cell phones have been released in the 1st Q of 09, but none could touch the class and elegance that the LG KM900 aka Arena has. There is a breathtaking compact touchscreen, nice and friendly interface, charming looks and loads of impressive features including a 5mp camera with flash and autofocus, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, 3G video calling, music player, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, FM transmitter, 3.5mm headphone jack and a stunner 8GB memory that you can expand to massive 40GB.

Just like many other cell-phone makers, LG is churning out high-end touchphones amazingly quickly. It’s somewhat difficult to review this nice all-rounder as it seems to do a lot of things, but let’s make a try.

• 8BG memory that can be expanded to 40GB with microSD memory card.

• 72 MP3/ polyphonic ringtones.
• Bluetooth 1.2, USB 2.0, 3.5mm headphone socket and WiFi for connectivity.

Features:

• It has a Dolby Mobile Music player that can run MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC++ and WMA formats.
• Speakerphone, Voice recording, SMS, MMS, EMS and emails for messaging, document viewer, wallpaper, 1000names phonebook, assisted GPS and vibration alert are some standard features.
• FM radio
• 5mp camera
• Triband with HSDPA 3G.
• There is WAP2.0, EDGE, 7.2Mb/s 3G HSDPA, GPRS Class 12 for the internet connectivity.

Pros:

• Memory is the real stunner that is expandable to 40GB.
• Charming chic design with loads of good features and nice looks.
• A nice 480×800 pixels truly high-def display.
• Assisted GPS for photos geo-tagging is quite awesome.
• A really nice device for web surfing with a functional browser.
• It Replete with nice practical and workable features.

Cons:

• It’s just 5mp camera is not quite up to the mark, as most of today’s smartphone are available with 8mp cameras.
• Just like any other touchscreen cell phone, battery gets out of the juice quite quickly.

Every now and then, there are new touchscreen phones, but no doubt, the LG Arena is the best so far in the first quarter of 09.
